Festive Hair Ideas for Ballet Class This Christmas Season

Christmas is a magical time for performances, rehearsals, and Christmas-themed ballet classes. Whether you're preparing for a festive Nutcracker performance or just want to embrace the season in style, here's our guide on how to create a beautiful and practical hairstyle perfect for ballet this festive season.

The Classic Ballet Bun with a Festive Twist!

The ballet bun is a timeless choice, and the go to hairstyle for ballet class but you can add a little Christmas flair. Everyone is loving bows this Christmas so why not put one in your hair as well as on the Christmas tree.

Step 1:

Brush your hair into a sleek high or low ponytail, depending on your preference. If you like middle parting use the end of your comb to find your parting and to separate each side.

Step 2:

Secure with a hair tie (we would recommend using a few bobbles to make sure the pony is nice and secure!)

Step 3:

Next twist your ponytail around itself to form a bun.

Step 4:

Grab your bun net (make sure there are no holes!) and wrap the bun next around the twisted pony tail.

Step 5:

Pin the bun securely with bobby pins. Use as many pins as you need until the bun feels secure, the thicker your hair is the more pins you are likely to use.

Step 6:

Add the final festive touch! Get your ribbon in a Christmassy colour of your choice and wrap around your bun from the top and tie your bow from the bottom so the ribbon sits underneath your bun.

With this hairstyle, you’ll be perfectly poised to shine on stage and for ballet class this Christmas season. To look extra special for your last ballet class of 2024 why not treat yourself to a new dance leotard too!?✨
