5 Ways To Use The Tendu Stretch Loop
What dancer doesn't want to perfect their middle split and achieve an amazing arabesque? Designed with dancers in mind the Tendu stretch band is the ideal tool for dancers looking to stretch, strengthen and increase flexibility. A dance bag must have! Hamstring stretch
- Wrap band around the foot
- Lie on your back
- Gently pull your leg towards you
- Keep bottom leg as straight as possible
- Focus on keeping both hips on the floor
Inner leg stretch
- Wrap band around the foot
- Lie on your back
- Gently pull your leg toward you like you did in the hamstring stretch
- Now take this out to the side
- Try to stay rotated and keep both hip bones on the floor.
Middle split stretch
- Wrap band around your feet,
- the stretch band has to be behind your back,
- open the legs into a middle split,
- Remember to keep the band off the ground and keep your legs rotated
- Try to relax into the stretch!
Arabesque
- Wrap stretch band around left shoulder if stretching the right side, if you are stretching the left leg wrap the band around the right shoulder.
- Then take it behind you and wrap the band around the foot on the leg you are stretching
- From here open the leg to an arabesque
- Try and stay as square as possible, the stretch band should help you do this
A la seconde
- Wrap stretch band around left shoulder if stretching the right side, if you are stretching the left leg wrap the band around the right shoulder.
- Develop your leg to second and hold
- If you want a deeper stretch grab the band and pull it closer towards you.
- Try and keep your hips on the same level
