Leotard of the Month - April
Eliza looks fab in the purple version of Ballet Rosa Leo of the Month for £34.50
This sophisticated Ballet Rosa leo is an especially beautiful leotard to celebrate our one year anniversary of our Leotard of the Month feature. We brought you this feature for the first time in April last year and its popularity has skyrocketed ever since! So in true leo of the month fashion…let’s get excited about this month’s heroine!
The back of this leotard is truly where it's at! Just look at the detail Ballet Rosa has treated you to in this design...
The centre point ruching at the back of the leo beautifully accentuates the symmetry created by the cross back design. Ruching is a classically simple way to add a little feminism into your dancewear and it's perfect for the principle of ballet in particular. Ruching may be a traditional dainty touch, but the cross back design is a modern twist on a classic leotard shape. Flip the leo to the front to see the same elegant ruching on the front V neck.
The back straps are elasticated to give you a figure-hugging fit and streamlined silhouette. Cross strap designs are amongst our favourite because they look so stylishly edgy, but also offer a dancer benefits in that pressure is correctly distributed across your back to relieve your shoulders. The elastication of the straps will offer you some additional comfort and increase your range of motion during dance also.
Eliza's dark hair and tanned Cypriot skin are complemented by the deep purple colour, where as Alison's fair skin and blonde hair look wonderful against the light blue colour. In all colour versions of this leotard - especially the black - the keyhole cutout is striking next to the cross back design. The teardrop shape of this cutout is designed to flatter the natural curvature of a dancer's body, yet it also functions to keep you cool whilst you dance.
The black version of Ballet Rosa's Madison leotard is a versatile choice that you can style well for any dance class. Wear with just your ballet tights, or if ballet's not your thing, throw on a pair of sweat pants that look great in both street and ballet. Try their new drawstring cuffed pants, you can find them by clicking here.
The technicals
- This leo comes with full frontal nude lining
- It's easy to care for by being washed at max. 40°C
- It's made of 90% polyamide & 10% elastane. This gives it wonderful stretch retention to ensure you'll always get the same great fit you love in this leo. Polyamide absorbs little moisture, which means it should help with sweat-wicking during your intense routines.
